Our Groomers Care about Your Pets Comfort

Our experienced groomers take extra care to ensure every animal feels as calm as possible.

With no-heat dryers, skin-sensitive shampoos, and personalized trimming regimens, we put the safety and overall health of your pets first. We also include collar, harness and leash cleaning in all our grooming packages!

My heart has always been in small business.

I managed a small wine and olive oil shop for four years but even then, I knew my real passion was for dogs.

It wasn’t until I started bathing dogs at a local kennel that I realized that grooming was my calling.

In September 2019, I took a leap of faith and started the grooming program at The Academy of Pet Careers.

I absolutely love the one on one time I get to spend with each dog.  I have learned  that like humans, every dog is different and comes with their own unique personalities.

Seeing the dogs express themselves and learning about them keeps my days fund. I love seeing the excitement on the parents' faces when they pick up their pup!  The shared joy is contagious!

I think I have loved animals as long as I can remember.

I graduated with a veterinary technician degree and am certified in pet nutrition and pet first aid. I worked for the Randolph County Humane Society for four years before finding my home here at Three Tails in Waterloo in 2016.

Working with the animals here gives me great joy - almost as much as spending time at home with my own four-legged family members and my husband, Joseph.

Some people know at a young age exactly what they want to do with their life.

That was definitely me. Growing up on a dairy farm, I was always surrounded by animals, big and small. Cows, horses, dogs, cats, chickens — you name it!

I would always tell people that I was going to be a groomer one day. And that’s exactly what I did.

My journey began 10 years ago as an academy-trained pet stylist for Petsmart. It was a great opportunity and one I wouldn’t trade.

But I was craving a more personal and interactive experience and I found that at Three Tails. I’ve been here from the beginning, having also worked here for four years when we were still Waterloo Feed.

I have a passion for caring for animals of all kinds, and I see grooming as a craft — one that helps your pet feel, look and smell great!

I’d love to meet you and your pets and talk about how we can help them put their best paw forward!

I’ve been a groomer for 15 years but a pet lover for much longer than that!

I was corporate trained but I also worked for a number of small businesses and a veterinarian’s office before joining the wonderful crew here at Three Tails.

I like to take a sensitive approach to the job, recognizing that each animal has his or her own needs and also his or her own set of fears. I am particularly good at working with shy and skittish dogs, so if that applies to your furry friend, I’m your gal!

I like to take my time talking with the pet owner to make sure they — and their pet — are as comfortable as possible. Because let’s face it — sometimes a pair of cutting shears can be a scary thing!

My favorite  breeds are chihuahua, Boston terrier, golden retrievers and Aussies . . . just to name a few.

I live with my 5-year-old son, Max, and three dogs, Shrimp and Janice (both chihuahuas) and Jenny (a beagle).

I also love reptiles and go to reptile shows often. And yes, I have one of them too. Let me tell you about my bearded dragon named Butters!

When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my son, playing mini golf, video games and binge watching tv shows. And we love going to Blues and Cardinals games.

Hope to see you in the shop!
